# 73 MacchiboooOOooOoo!~

This week's stuff from Sci-Fi Illustration.
This time it's the main antagonist's weather-changing flying machine.

Landscape paintings from last week. It rained so we ended up in studio painting from photos.
Really really like how this one came out.

Wasn't too happy with this one in class, but looking at it now I think it looks pretty good.

Painting done this week at the Legion of Honor. Wanted to do a second one but ran out of time. :(
So how's everyone's midterms?

#72 I want nobodynobody but chuu.

Updating time!

Starting off with some landscapes.

This was done in studio last week, using a photoreference my teacher provided. Ever since I joined this class my aim was to paint snowy mountains! Hopefully we'll get to paint more.

Went to Fort Mason this week to paint. Had a sub. She's nice but I still prefer Paul since he gives more helpful advice.
First one. An hour-ish. Trying to limit my time so I can stay more loose and spontaneous and paint more.

Managed to paint this after lunch. An hour and half-ish.

And finally my Sci-Fi homework this week.
Another creature concept for the Storm Slayer story.
Really liking this class with Stephen Player as he gives the best critiques. Really helping me to improve and push myself further.

I guess that's all for now folks.

#71 Doop do we woo~

So finally, here's stuff from the first few weeks of class.

First assignment I did for Sci-fi Illustration. A creature concept for the story Storm Slayer.
It's up on display at Powell btw. :D :D One of my lifelong dreams finally fulfilled. Lol. I have such low expectations of myself. I think it tipped over though. Ugh.

First plein-air painting. Went to the Conservatory of Flowers at Golden Gate Park.

Second week of plein air. Went to Lafayette Reservoir.

And this is me learning how to draw manga magna on Youtube. It's much harder to do it than it looks.

#70 My cute widdew sketzbuk...

This semester, I started using a really tiny sketchbook I got while I was back home in Malaysia... and I realised. I prefer using a tiny sketchbook more than I do a bigger. It's so much more fun and all you need to do is one drawing and the page is filled! (Amazing feeling for people like me who MUST have the page filled before moving on to the next page) So.. here they are, scribbles on the little sketchbook.. in unchronological order.

That tourist booth thing at Union Square. Drawn before Anthony's class last week.

Interesting shapes that interest me.

These below are from Borders..
Robert sold me one of his hi-tec c pens. I'm never going back to microns ever again...

The pencil ones are a little smudgy because I draw on both sides.. ehe.. and I took too long to scan them in.

I've been drawing alot of dragons this semester.. and believe it or not, I'll probably be drawing a lot more for my classes.

These are from THE ZOO... Dum dum dummm~

The one above is from a coffee shop my housies and I hang out while waiting for our laundry.

More of Union Square....

These two below are from Metreon Park.

And th..thethathe..the.. THAT'S All Folks!

EDIT: I think... I'm finally done. @_@

Should be almost done now. Thanks to those who gave me some crits in the previous post. :)Worked on the background, changed the dragon design a littl... ok.. alot. But I like it better now. It looks almost like some bug-dragon thing. :d

I like how the mushrooms turned out.

This seem to be taking me forever..since i only get to work a little of it at a time. go 1 layer painting! wooooooooo! Made some adjustments here and there.. wish I had a book of dragon anatomy. >_> Trying very hard to make the dragon less cliche-ish but i think i r is failinz.

I think this is probably the first time I've posted so many WIPs of the same piece. Crit plz?

#66 OMG I'M ALIIIIVEEEEE

Lololol. After being ded for so long I decided to update stuff here. Heidi asked me to show her how I do my digital paintings from scratch so I thought "why not?" At first I thought of just doing a simple one day piece but I got carried away and decided to expand on it. It's still a WIP.

Cliche theme of dragon meets man.. but peoeple who know me know I never touch fantasy before so yeah.. expanding my horizon. That is all folks. Will update from time to time. Here are the first 2 wips. First wip at the bottom for easy viewing when seen with future updated posts.

#65 Last poast of Spring' 09

My Ill3 final, those of you who took Clothed Figure 2 with me would probably remember the sketch.

Definitely has been a great semester despite the numerous breakdowns and burnouts. Felt I really have grown alot, in terms of technique, thinking and endurance. And of course, getting stuff into this year's Springshow. Now all I have to do is hope they get displayed. Have a great summer everynyan, and I'll see you in Fall ;)
